This work is a study of shadows as evidence of the object having once been there, but now gone..the trace of the image is the shadow, which in turn becomes an object in itself. As the shadow crosses itself in time through the day, it createds a darker core or center that has a shape only barely close to the original object. Yet another object within or as a result of another object that has existed in time, yet becomes something ne in a non time. present.
with these shadows I am also continuing an exploration of the space between the self and the land. How we connect, travel and experience the land/map. How can a twig, an offering or token from the land help us to connect from map to landscape to body.?
The obvious metaphor of shadow as dark side, underbelly, cool and quiet sanctuary are also ideas that I am exploring in this meditative work.
