Michel Droge, was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. She has a BA in Studio Art and Cognitive Psychology from Oberlin College, studied Graphic Design at Cooper Union and has an MFA in interdisciplinary Studio Art from of Mane College of Art .
Michel Currently works at Maine College of Art and at Colby College Art Museum
and resides in Portland Maine .
Michel’s recent work draws from the Odyssey and the landscape of the Maine coastal region. The work investigates sense impression and Identity through the activity of wandering and the conjuring of spirits. Her oil paintings employ a language of realism and abstraction traversing these worlds.
